UNITY BUILD FOR BOTH WINDOWS AND MAC UPDATE
Great! Now that we have the plugin downloaded and imported to our project we need to make one quick update before we can build and run our app.
UNITY BUILD FOR BOTH WINDOWS AND MAC DOWNLOAD
Once the download is complete, click and Import the assets into your project. Once the plugin page has loaded, go ahead and click Download. The next step is to navigate to the Unity Store ( if you are in the scene view, click the Unity Store tab) and search for “Agora Video SDK”. To start, open Unity and create a blank new project named Agora Video Demo. Getting a sample Windows app up and running is simple and took less than 10 minutes.

Follow along and I will show you how to get video communication up and running in no time on your Windows device. With our Agora Video SDK for Unit圓D you can add cross-platform functionality to Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS. Leave a comment below or visit the Contact Me page if you have any questions.Being able to communicate with across mobile platforms is great but when you add the ability to connect to the Windows platform you begin to open a whole new world of possibilities. I hope it was entertaining enough for you to come back for more and perhaps to follow me on this venture. Thank you for taking the time to read this post. If you’ve reached this far, I am grateful to you. Incidentally, the version of Unity I was using when I got the error is 2019.4.21f1 LTS. There might be other implications to my solution, but that is something I’ll have to learn as I continue to develop video games with Unity using C#.įor now, I’ll stick with the solutions that work for me. I hope this post can help someone who might be going through the same issue as I did. But donations are welcome and appreciated There is no need to do so, as there is an option to skip it. When you download either version, there is a moment where you’ll be asked to make a donation. If you would like to try Brickin’ Out, visit my Itch.io page here. I published two demos, one for Apple, and the other for Windows. Right there in plain sight in the Scripting Backend dropdown field was IL2CPP…and when clicked, Mono was the other available selection.Īs soon as I clicked on Mono, the error disappeared and I was able to publish to Windows.Īnd I did. Configuration Section in Player Project Settings More specifically, the Configuration section (you have to scroll down).

So as I said, I looked through every setting and dropdown menu until I came to the Player settings. Nobody explicitly said what setting I had to change in Unity in order to publish a game to the Windows platform on my MacBook Pro. And here I might get some static from people in the know that’ll say “you did get an answer” or “they told you what the problem was.” So I went through the tedious work of searching the Project Settings for anything that mentions IL2CPP or Mono, starting at Audio.īy the way, the other Google search results were pretty much the same as the first in that it talked about IL2CPP, but didn’t give me a solution to my problem. The answers throughout the forum post lead me to believe that IL2CPP and mono are settings that could be selected. What I did see, however, was a recurring word: mono. There was no solution to my problem in the post, at least not that I could see or understand. It certainly might have been useful to someone and probably was, but it wasn’t to me. The top result was a post from 2015 in the Unity forums.Īs a person trying to learn how to make games using Unity, all the information in the post was gibberish. I copied the error text, pasted it into Google, and started looking at the results. When I first got the error, I started to think that I couldn’t publish to Windows on a Mac, which didn’t feel right, so I started searching for answers on the interwebs.

“Windows IL2CPP player can only be built on Windows.”
